Description

A rare and exciting opportunity to become Head of Innovation and Development at a successful and expanding environmental risk assessment and regulatory consultancy. This key new role will take responsibility for developing new services and new ways to deliver existing services. You will research and analyse regulatory science developments and markets trends, identify, develop and introduce innovative services in response to market opportunities, lead the development of in-house expertise and, help ensure the company remains at the forefront of developments and expands its ability to deliver technical excellence.

You will join this award-winning team at a time of exciting expansion and play a lead role in by expanding and developing new services in response to market and regulatory science developments. You will use your deep understanding of the expert disciplines in chemical regulatory science and the delivery of regulatory and risk assessment services to spot global trends and to develop commercially feasible industry solutions. Key responsibilities will include identification of service development options by looking for gaps in supply, horizon scanning to identify trends and emerging themes; you will manage the R&D programme to evolve concepts into new services and products, manage the development and acquisition of expert level skills, ensure the team continues to get the investment and input required to develop new specialist skills, further development of quality standards and authoring of technical papers and literature to support the marketing of new services. In summary, you will create solutions for emerging regulatory and risk assessment issues and work closely with senior colleagues to support their commercialisation.

We would like to hear from experienced chemical sector regulatory scientists and professionals who have a detailed understanding of chemical regulatory science and risk assessment and, a strong interest in and understanding of the direction of change of chemical regulation. You could have experience in chemical, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals or veterinary products; you are likely to have expert knowledge of a discipline (eg toxicology, ecotoxicology or environmental fate) and crucially, you must have deep understanding and awareness of all expert disciplines and how they can address emerging regulatory issues. You must be commercially aware, have strong analytical and critical thinking ability, be able to lead, motivate and inspire, have project leading experience and the motivation to drive forward and complete complex R&D programmes.
