An opportunity for a high calibre PhD qualified environmental regulatory scientist to join a highly regarded environmental risk assessment team. You will be working on projects to investigate the fate, behaviour and (eco) toxicology of chemicals in the environment, conduct risk assessments and to contribute to the environmental section of registration dossiers. The risk assessment team supports the development and defence of chemical products and active substances. You will work on projects including complex problem solving and large development / registration projects. You will be involved in all aspects of projects including providing expert advice, data gap analysis, sourcing data, study monitoring, exposure analysis, modelling and application of bespoke higher tier risk assessment techniques. You will focus on either the fate and behaviour or ecotoxicology of chemical compounds in the environment.
Applications are invited from candidates with a PhD in a subject related to the fate and behaviour, or ecotoxicology of chemicals in the environment. You must have a strong scientific knowledge, be numerate, have knowledge of mathematical data analysis, modelling skills and critical thinking and problem-solving ability. You must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a quick learner and able to multi-task. Ideally you will have some relevant experience of environment fate modelling / the fate and behaviour or (eco) toxicology of chemical compounds in the environment. However, a comprehensive and ongoing training programme will be provided. An excellent start to your career.
