An opportunity for a chemical regulatory / restricted substances specialist to join a dynamic global consultancy. The company provides advanced materials data to a global blue-chip client base; they are looking to recruit a chemical regulatory specialist to become their subject matter expert in chemical legislation and restricted substances.

You will provide chemical regulatory expertise in global legislative schemes including REACh. The company’s engineering and product development clients will use this data to inform selection of materials at the design phase. Data includes in-depth detail of the regulation, its impact/risk on the material and related processes, pending use restrictions and details of alternative materials. Your role is to research and interpret the regulations, provide regulatory expertise / advice to colleagues, the regulatory content for the system and, to support and provide expertise on the use of the system to regulatory affairs contacts at clients.

We are looking for a chemical regulatory professional with good REACH / chemical regulatory knowledge, a background in chemistry (or materials science) and a strong understanding of the downstream use of chemicals and the impact of restricted substance legislation. Ideally you will have knowledge of a range of products containing chemical components, experience or knowledge of EHS / Regulatory software systems, good communication skills and be comfortable in customer facing situations.
