Description
An opportunity for an early career environmental risk assessor to join a scientific consultancy supporting chemical, pharmaceutical and industrial clients. You will undertake environmental risk assessments, with an emphasis on chemical exposure, under regulatory frameworks including UK/EU REACH, Biocides and human and veterinary medicines.
The Role
• Conduct environmental exposure and risk assessments
• Develop PEC/PNEC assessments and Risk Characterisation Ratios (RCRs)
• Undertake exposure modelling using relevant modelling tools
• Develop and refine exposure scenarios
• Review environmental fate, ecotoxicity, emissions and monitoring data
• Prepare Chemical Safety Reports
• Provide clear technical and regulatory advice to clients
About You
You will have experience in environmental risk assessment, exposure modelling or chemical risk assessment, ideally gained within consultancy, industry or a regulatory environment.
Experience of UK/EU REACH, EUSES, TRA, CHESAR, RISKOFDERM and SimpleTreat, PEC/PNEC assessment, environmental fate or ecotoxicology would be particularly valuable.
A relevant scientific background in environmental science, chemistry, ecotoxicology, toxicology or a related discipline is preferred.
