We are looking for a SHEQ Advisor to join a Darlington based chemical manufacturing company. Your responsibilities will be to implement, maintain and improve the health and safety, quality and environmental management systems for the company’s production and laboratory facilities.
The Darlington site produces a range of blended liquid speciality chemicals and has QA and QC testing facilities. The site is covered by COMAH regulations, has environmental and quality management systems including ISO9001, ISO14001 and they are implementing RC14001. The research and development laboratory facilities are based at a separate site. Your role will be to maintain the COMAH requirements, manage the ISO9001 and 14001 quality and environmental management system, lead the project to implement RC14001, conduct audits, provide advice, keep track of legislation changes, investigate incidents and where possible, implement improvements and efficiencies.
Suitable candidates will have current SHEQ experience in a chemical manufacturing or laboratory environment. You must be a self-starter and be able to work autonomously; you will be given the responsibility of managing your own priorities and workload in line with the company’s SHEQ policies. You are likely to be NEBOSH qualified, you must be well organised and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
